Josh Chapman, A Man Among Boys

January 20, 2012
This story of Josh Chapman hurting his knee posted on AL.com a couple of days ago:
The play in the Swamp on Oct. 1 ended like many others in Chapman’s Crimson Tide career with one significant difference: days later during an MRI, he learned he had torn the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee.
Despite the injury, Chapman really didn’t miss a beat, only skipping the game against FCS Georgia Southern.
I think this is an incredible story – almost unheard of in this day and age.  And on top of that, there wasn’t a peep made about this (for good reason).
When we look back on the 2011 and start counting heroes, Josh Chapman should be near the top of the list.

That’s incredible. Chapman was one of the most unsung heroes of that team. He will be missed more than most fans realize.
