I spent part of last week consoling my Auburn friends and reminding them that the Memphis team beaten by Mississippi State was terrible.
How terrible you ask? Hammered by Arkansas State bad:
Arkansas State, in its first year under former Briarcest High coach and Ole Miss assistant Hugh Freeze, toyed with the Tigers from the outset, grabbing a 27-point halftime lead and cruising to a 47-3 victory Saturday night before 29,872 at ASU Stadium.
Mississippi State crushed Memphis and then all we hear is how “this is our year.” Yeah, well, we hear the same old thing from State every year. Maybe the Dogs will have a good season, but they missed an opportunity for a great one yesterday by losing to Auburn.
