Alabama fans need to keep an eye on the Pitt Panthers job opening. Tide assistant head coach Sal Sunseri, a Pitt alum, interviewed for the job last year and should figure into the mix this year, as well.
Here’s a snippet from FootballScoop.com:
Pitt: Here’s what we’re hearing…first of all there is significant interest in the job. We hear the administration is very high on Paul Rhoads at Iowa State and Teryl Austin of the Ravens. We have also heard that Frank Cignetti, Sal Sunseri, Bud Foster and Mario Cristobal would all welcome the conversation…as would plenty of others. One viewer wrote in to say how great it would be for the players if they hired Bill Cowher. Yeah, that would be cool. We’ll keep you posted.
Sunseri, an excellent recruiter, is the father of Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri and Tide safety Vinnie Sunseri. After the Todd Graham fiasco, an alum like Sunseri may seem very appealing.
