“Starkville ‘could be the best college town in the country'”

Every year, it seems, we hear that this is Mississippi State’s year. I kind of like it because it lets me know football season is not far away. This year is no different:

“We’re not far off from there, which means we’re not far off from the national title.”

I guess living in the SEC West with recent national champions Alabama, LSU and Auburn has the Dogs a little high. The reality is, as Brandon Marcello notes, Dan Mullen’s teams haven’t beaten an SEC West opponent other than Ole Miss during his tenure. Who know, though? Maybe this is the year Mullen Crooms somebody.

  1. I have to admit, “Crooming” was one of the best verbs from a name EVER!
