According to CollegeFootballTalk.com something could be in the works:
Speaking to the Omaha World-Herald, Rose’s father, Charles, said that a decision on a new school from his son is expected in the next couple of days. The dad stated that “[h]is chances of going to Nebraska are pretty good,” although he refused to divulge the names of any other teams that are in the running for his son’s secondary services.
The elder Rose went on to add that the presence of new Cornhuskers defensive backs coach Terry Joseph has greatly enhanced NU’s chances. Joseph recruited Rose during his time as an assistant at Tennessee, and that relationship led the player to reach out to the first-year NU assistant after parting ways with the Tigers.
The reason Rose wasn’t permitted to return to the AU football program after being sent home by head coach Gene Chizik hasn’t been revealed, although his former high school coach flatly stated that it had “nothing to do with grades or anything that deals with the police or anything like that.”
I’m guessing – and hoping – that this would be a good fit for Rose. I don’t know any inside details, but I do know one of his former high school coaches. A change of scenery can often do wonders for a kid. I hope it works out for him.
