Tuesday Numbers, Week 9

** What a difference a game makes.  Take out the 602 yards given up by Auburn against Texas A&M and the Tigers still average allowing 399 yards per game, which would be good for 11th in the SEC.  Take out the 628 allowed by Alabama against the Aggies and the Tide would be giving up only 216 yards per game.

** Missouri has a league-leading turnover margin of +1.43 per game, more than double second place Mississippi State’s +.67 ratio.  Mizzou’s margin is the best since LSU’s +1.43 in 2011 and Florida’s +1.57 in 2008.

** Auburn’s offense is averaging 494.3 yards per game, good for third in the league so far.  In their last two games, the Tigers have racked up 712 and 615 yards against Western Carolina and Texas A&M, respectively.

** Texas A&M’s Mike Evans averages a gaudy 23.81 yards per catch while hauling in 43 passes so far this year.

** Arkansas ranks second in the conference with 20.0 sacks so far, but didn’t record one against Alabama last Saturday night.

** Texas A&M has run 547 offensive plays this year (78 per game), 94 more than Alabama.  A&M also leads the league in scoring (46.9 per game) while Alabama is third (40.7).

** ‘Bama’ opponent this week, Tennessee averages only 5.33 yards per offensive play, good for 13th in the league.  The Tide averages 7.11, good for second.

** Tide quarterback AJ McCarron now has the third best quarterback rating in the league (164.56).
